Willow Cottage

Rural Isle of Wight Holiday Rental

About the property

Willow Cottage is a semi-detached self-catering cottage, built of stone and tucked away in the pretty, rural hamlet of Yafford, by a large pond.

Ideal for a couple, this open-plan cottage has a large upstairs bedroom with a king-size double-bed, and downstairs has a kitchen, shower room and sitting room. It has its own enclosed garden to the rear, for exclusive use of guests.

Appliances include a washing machine and a TV.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Accessibility note: the wooden staircase in Willow Cottage opens up directly into the upstairs bedroom and it is quite narrow. The shower room and toilet are on the ground floor. Off-street parking is available next to the cottage. The local lanes do not have pavements. There is no street lighting in the area.

About the area

Yafford is one of the Isle of Wight’s smallest hamlets, featuring two large ponds (one right outside Willow Cottage) and a very peaceful atmosphere.

It is a short (20-minute) walk to the picture-postcard village of Shorwell, which features many traditional thatched-roof buildings and a well-regarded pub, The Crown.

A 5-minute drive, or 30-minute walk, reaches the larger village of Brighstone, which has a 7-day village store with a wide range of locally-sourced foods and everything else needed for your stay.

Yafford is very well situated for exploring the beautiful West Wight. It is a couple of minutes by car to the sweeping Military Road that runs all the way up the Island’s south-west coast, and there are numerous country walks, both flat and hilly, from your doorstep or a short ride away. The area is also highly recommended for cyclists.
